A man was arrested by Lian PNP on a checkpoint conducted at Barangay Prenza, Lian, Batangas on 2:54 in the afternoon of August 6, 2023 after authorities found and confiscated illegal drugs in his possession.
Batangas Police Provincial Office Provincial Director Police Colonel Samson B. Belmonte identified the suspect as Christian John D Cunamay, 45 years old, and resident of Matabungkay, Lian, Batangas.
According to the arresting officer, they were conduting an OPLAN Sita at the said barangay when the police officers flagged down a speeding motorcycle for not wearing a helmet. Upon stoppage of the motorcycle, the police officers noticed a transparent plastic sachet containing white crystalline substance (suspected shabu) being thrown away by the suspect. Upon physical inspection, another suspected shabu in a plastic sachet was confiscated on the right pocket of the suspect’s short.
Said suspect is still in the custody of Lian Municipal Police Station for proper disposition
