Notorious NPA Member Arrested in Quezon

Cavinti, Laguna – The Army’s 80th Infantry Battalion together with PNP elements from Regional Mobile Force Battalion (RMFB) 4A and Quezon Police Provincial Office (PPO), arrested a certain John Patrick Olarve @JP/JAY-P/KOBE, a notorious NPA member under SDG Platun, KLG NARCISO in So Queborosa, Brgy Magsaysay, Infanta, Quezon on October 11, 2023 at 2:30 in the morning.

 

The arrest was legally executed by virtue of a Warrant of Arrest for the crime of Frustrated Murder docketed under CC No. 2021-31-1, issued by Hon. Marylou P. Meneses, Acting Presiding Judge of RTC Branch 65, Infanta, Quezon dated 02 September 2021 with recommended bail of Php 200,000.00.

 

Among the recorded terroristic activities involving the arrested NPA member include the burning of three backhoes and one bulldozer in Brgy Magsaysay, Infanta, Quezon on February 07, 2019; the disarming of security guards of Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas under SERAPH Security Agency in Brgy San Mateo, Norzagaray, Bulacan on February 25, 2019; and liquidation of a certain Mauro Mudlong alias Banong, President of Bantay Gubat and member of Aniban ng mga Magsasaka, Mangingisda at Manggagawa sa Agrikultura (AMMMA) at Sitio Ipo, Brgy San Mateo, Norzagaray, Bulacan on June 20,  2022. He is also involved in several armed encounters with the government troops in Rizal and Quezon provinces.

 

John Patrick OLARVE is under the custody of Infanta Municipal Police Station (Infanta MPS) for inquest procedure.

 

Brigadier General Cerilo C. Balaoro Jr, Commander, 202nd Infantry (Unifier) Brigade, congratulated the involved units for the successful joint AFP-PNP law enforcement operations. “We are on the right track in ending this decades-long communist armed conflict. We will not let this terrorist group to continue to roam around in farflung communities harassing the poor and hapless people. I would like to extend my appreciation to the people of Sitio Queborosa for tipping off the presence of Alias JP and his cohorts, threatening and extorting foodstuffs from the impoverished residents in the area.”

 

The successful capture and arrest of John Patrick OLARVE serves as a testament to the unwavering commitment of the security forces to maintaining peace and security in our communities, and that fugitives from the law will face the consequences of their unlawful acts against the people.
