CAVINTI, LAGUNA – Jalajala is now the 11th insurgency-free municipality in Rizal, following the Ceremonial Signing of the Memorandum of Understanding on the Declaration of Stable Internal Peace and Security (SIPS) on October 18, 2023.

Hon. Elmer C. Pillas, Municipal Mayor of Jalajala, Rizal, expressed his sincere gratitude to the various stakeholders and the populace for cooperating to realize their shared goal of having a safe, secure, and insurgency-free environment.

“Jala Jala, our paradise in Rizal, is looking forward to more investments and infrastructure development now that we have been recognized for our unity to make our town peaceful and progressive.” declared the Mayor.

Colonel Ronald Jess S Alcudia PA, the Deputy Brigade Commander, 202nd Infantry Brigade, representing BGen Cerilo Balaoro, Jr, the Brigade Commander, congratulated the local government and all stakeholders of Jalajala, Rizal for declaring their municipality insurgency-free. “We are one in this declaration to achieve national unity and end the local communist armed conflict that has hindered our collective aspirations for peace and development,” he added. He also conveyed the encouragement message of the 202nd Brigade Commander to the residents to continue supporting the government’s initiatives and reiterated his call to the remaining members of the CPP-NPA to go back to the folds of the law, join the mainstream of society, and avail themselves of the reintegration program of the government.

With the declaration of SIPS status, the Local Chief Executive is now leading the charge in maintaining peace and security while pursuing development initiatives for the good of their constituents.

The collective effort yielded the surrender of one Militia ng Bayan (MB) member with firearm. Highlighting said event is the signing of the Pledge of Commitment by all stakeholders, particularly the local officials at the municipal level, including the different barangay chairpersons of Jalajala and other government agencies.

It can be recalled that the municipalities of Baras, Tanay, Teresa, Cardona, Pililla, San Mateo, Binangonan, Angono, Cainta, and Morong, all of Rizal Province have already achieved SIPS status.
