Carmona, Cavite – The Social Security System (SSS) Carmona branch honored its 200 retirement pensioners during the nationwide conduct of Annual Pensioners’ Day.
“This activity is our way of thanking all retirement pensioners for their significant contribution to the pension fund during their productive years. They deserve to relax and enjoy while learning something new from SSS and co-participants,” SSS Luzon South 1 Acting Vice President Edwin Igharas said.
Pensioners participated in various games prepared by SSS and received raffle prices. To support their health and wellness, SSS led a Zumba session and distributed medicines to all participants.
SSS also discussed the Pension Loan Program (PLP) where retirement pensioners can borrow up to P 200,000.00 based on the amount of their monthly pension. For a pensioner to qualify, he or she must have a My.SSS account; 85 years old or younger in the last month of the loan term; there is no deduction from the monthly pension or existing advance pension under the SSS Calamity Loan Assistance Package and the status of his monthly pension is “Active”.
“Even first-time PLP loan borrowers can now apply online. However, some pensioners have difficulty in navigating gadgets including our SSS Website and portal. As we are transitioning to digitalization, rest assured that SSS will continue to guide our retirement pensioners in transacting online through our E-Centers located in SSS branches. We are also in partnership with other barangays for the establishment of SSS E-Centers in barangay halls so that digital services are within reach even by members and pensioners from far flung communities,” Igharas concluded.
