Cavinti, Laguna – In a momentous event held at Camp Capinpin, Sampaloc, Tanay, Rizal on November 3, 2023, the Commanding General of the Philippine Army, Lt. Gen. Roy M. Galido PA, honored the 202nd Infantry (Unifier) Brigade and its dedicated Operationally-Controlled (OPCON) Units with Campaign Streamer Awards. These include the three Commanding General Philippine Army Significant Accomplishment Streamers, a Bayanihan Streamer and a Kalasag Streamer. The recognition bestowed are testaments to the outstanding achievements of the Unifier Brigade and its OPCON units in internal security operations as well as in humanitarian assistance and disaster response (HADR) operations..

Under the leadership of Brig. Gen. Cerilo C. Balaoro Jr PA, Commander, 202nd Infantry (Unifier), the Brigade has been at the forefront of the defense of the provinces in the peripheries of the seat of the national government. Orchestrating its OPCON units, namely the 1st Infantry (Always First) Battalion, 80th Infantry (Steadfast) Battalion, the 22nd Military Intelligence Company, the 22nd Division Reconnaissance Company and Task Force Ugnay, the Team Unifier has played a vital role in ending the local communist armed conflict in CALABARZON and relegating the remnants of the Communist Terrorist Group to an insignificant level.

The Campaign Streamer Awards presented to the 202nd Infantry (Unifier) Brigade symbolize the remarkable achievements in a series of military operations while the Kalasag streamer represents the efforts undertaken in HADR operations to assist affected communities and stabilize emergency situations. These awards reflect the unwavering dedication, courage, and professionalism of the Unifier soldiers in protecting our nation and serving the people. These honors will serve as sources of inspiration for the troops to perform their mandate in different mission areas.

Lt. Gen. Galido expressed his profound appreciation for the dedication and commitment exhibited by the troops under the 202nd Infantry (Unifier) Brigade. He emphasized their crucial role in preserving peace and security in their area of operations and recognized the sacrifices they have made as members of the Philippine Army.

It can be recalled that last October 20, 2022, the Brigade also received two Commanding General Philippine Army Significant Accomplishment Streamers from the former Commanding General of the Philippine Army, Lt.
