Under the leadership of PBGen Paul Kenneth T. Lucas, the Police Regional Office CALABARZON is poised and vigilant for the upcoming 2-day transport strike announced by PISTON and Manibela from April 15 to April 16, 2024.

PBGen Lucas has instructed all police provincial directors within PRO CALABARZON to oversee the strike’s conduct in their respective areas by formulating contingency plans in collaboration with local governments and other law enforcement agencies to aid affected travelers.

In anticipation of potential disruptions, PRO 4A has established a Reactionary Standby Support Force (RSSF) ready for immediate deployment and assigned red teaming to inspect convergence points. Civil disturbance management units have been activated to address any disturbances.

Residents are advised to stay home unless necessary, while the “Libreng Sakay Program” will utilize PNP and LGU buses and trucks to provide free transportation services during the strike.

Director Lucas cautions of potential travel delays due to PNP checkpoints coordinated with relevant authorities, and assures increased police presence to ensure smooth traffic flow and uphold safety.

RD Lucas emphasizes maximum tolerance and respect for human rights among personnel manning checkpoints and conducting operations, enforcing strict adherence to the directive of “No Using of Cellphone while on Duty” except in emergencies.

General Lucas reaffirms the police force’s commitment to safety and security during the strike, urging cooperation from the public to make the region safer for all.
