QUEZON-Mahigit na apat na oras na tinupok ng apoy ang isang oil mill nagsimulang sumiklab ang apoy pasado alas 4:00 ng madaling araw nitong Huwebes.
Ayon kay FSupt. Rodel Nota, hepe ng BFP-Lucena, nagsimula ang sunog 4:25 ng umaga at tinupok ang Mt. Holy Oil mill, na nasa Purok Jasmin, Brgy. Domoit, Lucena City.
Umabot ito sa ikatlong alarma at nirespondehan ng mga pamatay sunog mula sa Lucena City BFP at sa mga katabing bayan at lungsod ng Tayagas City, Sariaya at Pagbilao BFP.
Idineklara itong fire out under control ang sunog dakong alas 8:30 na ng umaga.
Sinasabing nagsimula ang apoy sa imbakan ng “palyat” na ginagamit sa paggawa ng langis mula sa niyog.
Sa inisyal na pagtataya ng BFP-Lucena, umaabot sa nasa P85 milyong piso ang halaga ng napinsala.
Wala namang naiulat na may nasugatan o nasawi sa nasabing sunog at
inaalam pa ng mga awtoridad kung may iba pang dahilan at lugar ang pinagsimulan ng sunog.
