Sa pagpasok ng wet cropping season ng palay, aktibong naghahanda ang Department of Agriculture IV-CALABARZON (DA-4A) Rice Program sa pamamagitan ng pagsasagawa ng serye ng mga konsultasyon kasama ang mga lokal na pamahalaan sa buong rehiyon ng CALABARZON.
Naganap ang mga konsultasyon noong ika-22 ng Mayo sa Batangas, ika-23 ng Mayo sa Laguna, ika-29 ng Mayo sa Cavite, ika-30 ng Mayo sa Rizal, at ika-4 ng Hunyo sa Quezon. Layunin ng mga pulong na ito na talakayin ang mga bagong patakaran sa pamimigay ng interbensyon at alokasyon nito sa bawat munisipyo. Kabilang dito ang pagsusuri sa datos ng ani at tanim na palay sa nakalipas na panahon, kalagayan at isyu sa distribusyon ng Rice Competitiveness Enhancement Fund – Rice Farmers Financial Assistance (RCEF-RFFA), at ang paggamit ng Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Information System (DRRMIS) para sa mas mabilis na paghahanda ng mga ulat sa pinsala at pagkalugi sa mga sakahan tuwing may kalamidad.
Bukod dito, binigyang-diin din ang mga gabay sa pagsubaybay at paggawa ng ulat ukol sa mga peste at sakit sa palayan. Naging katuwang ng DA-4A sa mga konsultasyon ang National Irrigation Administration (NIA), Philippine Rice Research Institute (PhilRice), Philippine Center for Post Harvest Development and Mechanization (PhilMech), at Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) na nagbahagi ng kani-kanilang mga programa at aktibidad kaugnay sa pagpapalay.
Ayon kay Maricris Ite, Rice Focal Person, mahalaga ang ganitong mga pagtitipon upang matalakay at matugunan ang mga hamong kakaharapin sa darating na panahon ng taniman ngayong tag-ulan. Aniya, ang mga datos mula sa bawat lokal na pamahalaan ay magsisilbing batayan ng mga plano at interbensyon sa mga susunod na panahon ng taniman.
