Information provided by vigilant residents led to the discovery and recovery of an arms cache in San Jose Del Monte City, Bulacan, on Tuesday, June 18.
Responding to reports of armed individuals in the area, soldiers from the Army’s 202nd Infantry “Unifier” Brigade uncovered the hidden cache in Barangay Paradise 3. The items seized included:
– One M16 rifle
– A shotgun
– One hand grenade
– A magazine
– 36 rounds of live ammunition
– Three KMP-Kilusang Magbubukid ng Pilipinas flags and tarpaulins
– A laptop
– One personal ID
– Several subversive documents
Maj. Gen. Roberto Capulong, Commander of the 2nd Infantry “Jungle Fighter” Division, praised the residents for their vigilance and cooperation. He emphasized that the successful recovery underscores the critical role of community involvement in maintaining peace and security.
Maj. Gen. Capulong also stressed the importance of ongoing intelligence operations and collaboration with local authorities to prevent threats from armed groups. He encouraged citizens to continue partnering with the military to ensure the safety of their community.
