In an anti-drug operation, authorities arrested a high-value target in Imus City, Cavite, leading to the dismantling of a marijuana distribution hub. The operation, conducted by combined elements of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Regional Office IV-A Special Enforcement Team II, PDEA Cavite Provincial Office, Regional Drug Enforcement Unit IV-A, Imus City Police Station-Station Drug Enforcement Unit, and Tactical Operations Wing Southern Luzon-Philippine Air Force, resulted in the capture of Wenxer Teoxon y Macaraig, 27.
Macaraig, a freelance tattoo artist and video editor, was apprehended at his residence in Executive Lane Subdivision, Barangay Pinagbuklod. The operation uncovered a stash of illegal substances, including 114 assorted vape cartridges containing suspected marijuana oil valued at approximately Php399,000, around 20 grams of suspected dried marijuana flower tops worth Php30,000, approximately 184 grams of Sativa edible gummies valued at Php17,600, and four disposable syringes containing around 40ml of suspected marijuana resin worth Php60,000.
Authorities have filed appropriate charges against Macaraig under Republic Act No. 9165, also known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act. He is currently detained at the PDEA Regional Office IV-A Detention Facility in Santa Rosa City, Laguna. This operation marks a significant victory in the ongoing fight against illegal drug activities in the region.
