Iniulat ng 2nd Infantry “Jungle Fighter” Division, Philippine Army, na nagpapatuloy ang kanilang mga lokal na inisyatiba para sa kapayapaan, mula sa antas-barangay, upang mapanatili ang katahimikan at maiwasan ang insurhensiya sa rehiyon. Sa Kapihan sa Bagong Pilipinas noong Agosto 13, na idinaos sa Camp General Mateo Capinpin sa Tanay, Rizal, ibinahagi nina 201st Infantry “Kabalikat” Brigade Commander BGEN Erwin Alea at 202nd Infantry “Unifier” Brigade Commander BGEN Cerilo Balaoro Jr. ang kanilang mga matagumpay na programa.
Kabilang sa mga pangunahing tagumpay ng 2nd Infantry Division ang:
– Paghahanda ng 202nd Brigade para sa turnover sa Philippine National Police (PNP) ng pamumuno sa peace and security operations sa CALABARZON, bunga ng pagbaba ng banta ng insurhensiya.
– Pagkakaloob ng Stable Internal Peace and Security (SIPS) status sa 12 bayan sa Rizal, at 13 bayan sa Laguna at Cavite, na nagpapakita ng tagumpay sa pagpapanatili ng kapayapaan.
– Patuloy na pakikipag-ugnayan sa mga barangay upang ipaalam ang sitwasyon ng kapayapaan at mapalakas ang kanilang kakayahan sa proteksyon ng komunidad.
– Pagsasagawa ng mga programa ng E-CLIP para sa mga dating rebelde upang sila’y makabalik-loob sa lipunan.
– Pagpapatuloy ng information campaigns sa mga kabataan sa mga paaralan laban sa recruitment ng CPP-NPA-NDF.
Ang mga hakbang na ito ay nagpapatibay sa seguridad ng rehiyon at nagbibigay ng suporta sa mga programang pangkaunlaran, na naglalayong makamit ang mas ligtas at mapayapang komunidad para sa Bagong Pilipinas.
