Metro Pacific Tollways South (MPT South) has taken a significant step towards promoting road safety education among children with the launch of “Bayani Ka: Bayani ng Kalsada Book 2” at the National Library of the Philippines. This activity book, created by MPT South—a subsidiary of Metro Pacific Tollways Corporation (MPTC)—aims to inspire young readers to become champions of road safety within their communities.

With a focus on making road safety both entertaining and empowering, “Bayani ng Kalsada Book 2” is packed with engaging stories, vibrant illustrations, and interactive content. The book is an excellent resource for schools, designed to be incorporated into curriculums to help students become more aware and responsible pedestrians and road users.

Quiros, Assistant Director of the National Library of the Philippines, together with representatives from different local libraries from Metro Manila and Calabarzon.

The symbolic turnover of the “Bayani Ka” activity books was led by Arlette V. Capistrano, Vice President for Communication and Stakeholder Management of MPT South, alongside key figures such as MPTC Chief Corporate Governance and Risk Officer Atty. Cynthia Casino, and Dr. Angelito Umali, Health and Nutrition Officer representing UNICEF. The books were received by National Library of the Philippines Director Cesar Gilbert Q. Adriano, Assistant Director Eduardo B. Quiros, and representatives from various local libraries.

As part of the initiative, 2,000 copies of “Bayani Ka Book 2” will be distributed to public libraries and partner institutions across Metro Manila and CALABARZON. This effort underscores MPT South’s commitment to empowering the youth with knowledge that fosters lifelong habits of safety and responsibility.

“MPT South conceptualized this campaign to equip children with the knowledge and confidence they need to navigate the streets safely,” said Capistrano. “By distributing this book to schools, we aim to instill a sense of safety and responsibility in our youngest citizens.”

Director Adriano echoed these sentiments, emphasizing the importance of teaching children about road safety. “This book will serve as a crucial learning tool, empowering young minds with the knowledge of traffic rules and pedestrian safety, ultimately protecting them from harm on the road,” he stated.

MPT South remains dedicated to its mission of ensuring a safe and convenient mobility experience for all travelers. Through this initiative, the company is not only focusing on expressway drivers but also nurturing the road safety awareness of the next generation, empowering them to become the “Bayani ng Kalsada” of tomorrow.
