Bagong Pilipinas Serbisyo Fair Heads to Lipa City, Batangas for Its 22nd Edition

Lipa City, Batangas—August 24-25, 2024 — Following the success of the Bagong Pilipinas Serbisyo Fair (BPSF) – Agency Summit 2024, held last August 19-21, the country’s largest services and convergence caravan will make its way to Lipa City, Batangas this weekend. This marks the second installment of the BPSF in the CALABARZON region, after its inaugural debut in Santa Cruz, Laguna in November 2023.

The BPSF Batangas, the 22nd iteration of the event, is part of an ambitious initiative to bring government services closer to citizens across all 82 provinces in the country. Under the theme of “Mabilis, Maayos, Maginhawa at Masayang Serbisyo Publiko,” the event aims to enhance public service delivery and foster national unity.

Honorable Ralph G. Recto, Secretary of Finance and former Representative of Batangas’ Sixth District, will host the event. The opening ceremony, scheduled for August 24 at Aboitiz Pitch Lima Park, Lipa City, will feature a keynote address from House Speaker Ferdinand Martin G. Romualdez, representing President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. Speaker Romualdez will be joined by 133 District and Party-list Representatives from across the country, who will oversee agency consultations as part of the ongoing development of the Bagong Pilipinas Bill, which is set to be introduced in Congress.

The BPSF Batangas will see participation from 50 government agencies offering a total of 209 services to an estimated 60,000 beneficiaries. Over the course of two days, programs worth a combined 563 million pesos will be rolled out across the province, with 265 million pesos allocated for cash assistance programs alone. Additionally, the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) will be conducting continuous payouts for 49,000 beneficiaries in Batangas in the coming weeks.

Other province-wide initiatives include scholarship programs from CHED and TESDA, along with livelihood assistance opportunities for various sectors of pre-identified eligible clients. The first evening of the Serbisyo Fair will also feature a “Pagkakaisa Concert,” open to the public with free admission, expected to draw a crowd of at least 10,000 people.

In just one year since its launch, the BPSF has delivered over 12 billion pesos in assistance to 2.5 million families across 21 provinces. With strong leadership from the Marcos administration and unwavering support from the House of Representatives under Speaker Romualdez, the BPSF aims to reach all remaining provinces, ensuring that no Filipino is left behind. This initiative embodies a whole-of-government and whole-of-nation approach to nation-building and reigniting national pride.
