QUEZON-Patay ang isang lolo matapos na ito ay banggain ng jeep na nawalan ng preno sa palusong na bahagi ng zigzag road, Brgy, Malinao Ilaya, Atimonan, Quezon kamakalawa ng umaga.
Nakatayo lamang sa gilid ng highway ang 66-anyos na biktima na nakilalang si Apolinario Lomeda nang salpukin ito ng jeep na minamaneho ng 53-anyos na si Raul Epondo dakong alas 10:30 ng umaga.
Base sa imbestigasyon ng Atimonan PNP, nawalan umano ng preno ang jeep habang ito ay tumatakbo palusong mula pa sa ibabaw ng zigzag at mabilis na bumulusok paibaba.
Matapos mabangga ang biktima, nagtuloy-tuloy ang jeep sa pagtakbo hanggang bumangga sa isang bahay na nasa gilid ng kalsada.
Nasugatan din ang may-ari ng bahay na si Merlen Luna matapos na.mabagsakan ng nagibang harapang bahagi ng bahay.
Samatala isinugod sa ospital si Lomeda subalit ideneklara na itong dead on arrival ng doktor.
Dinala din sa ospital ang may-ari ng bahay at ang sugatang driver ng jeep at kapwa ginagamot sa ospital.
Nahaharap sa kasong reckless imprudence resulting in homicide, physical injuries at damage to properties ang driver,subalit ayon kay Maj. Lumaban hepe ng Atimonan PNP may paguusap na sa pagitan ng driver at ng pamilya ng mga biktima para sa posibleng pagkakaayus sa pangyayari.
