CALABARZON, Philippines — In a decisive response to the impact of Tropical Storm Enteng, Police Brigadier General Paul Kenneth Lucas, Regional Director of the Police Regional Office CALABARZON, has announced a series of proactive measures to ensure public safety and welfare across the affected provinces.

In a public address, PBGen. Lucas detailed the ongoing efforts to mitigate the storm’s impact, highlighting the coordinated actions between police offices and local government units. He emphasized the critical role of the police force in search and rescue operations, particularly in the most severely affected communities.

“Our teams have been actively conducting search and rescue operations, especially in severely impacted communities,” PBGen. Lucas stated. “We are also checking on the welfare of our police officers residing in affected areas. While it is our duty to fulfill our sworn responsibilities, we also have an obligation to ensure the safety of our families.”

As of the latest reports, 265 PNP personnel have been deployed, with an additional 489 RSSF personnel on standby. Of the 3,951 established evacuation centers, 199 are currently occupied, providing shelter to 7,458 families and 30,821 individuals. To date, the police teams have successfully rescued 179 individuals. However, the storm has also claimed nine lives, with investigations ongoing to determine the exact causes of death. Additionally, six individuals remain missing.

A total of 60 barangays in Cavite, Laguna, Rizal, and Quezon provinces have been affected by flooding, prompting continuous search, rescue, and evacuation operations. With the weather forecast predicting continued rainfall, PBGen. Lucas urged the public to remain vigilant and stay informed about the latest developments.

“Rest assured, PRO CALABARZON is committed to safeguarding the well-being of every resident in our region,” PBGen. Lucas assured. “Let us all remain vigilant and united in facing this challenge.”

The police force continues to monitor the situation closely, ensuring the safety of all residents as the region braces for further effects of the storm.
