3.4M Worth of Shabu Seized in Manila Buy-Bust, Two High-Value Suspects Arrested

On September 14, 2024, at around 5:20 PM, a major anti-drug operation in Manila resulted in the arrest of two high-value drug suspects. The buy-bust operation was carried out in the parking lot of a well-known mall, involving joint efforts from the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Regional Office IV-A Special Enforcement Team 1, PDEA National Capital Region-Manila District Office, and the Manila Police District (MPD).

The arrested suspects were identified as Binnor Hadji y Hadji Nassif, alias Johari, a 27-year-old tricycle driver, and Edwin Rotoni y Aneri, a 43-year-old from Dasmariñas City, Cavite. Both were caught in possession of a significant amount of illegal drugs during the operation.

Authorities seized approximately 500 grams of suspected shabu, valued at Php3,400,000.00, from the suspects. Along with the drugs, operatives also confiscated buy-bust money used in the undercover transaction.

The operation was meticulously planned and executed by the joint task force to crack down on illegal drug activities within the region. The suspects are believed to be part of a larger drug network operating in Cavite and surrounding areas.

Charges for violating Republic Act No. 9165, or The Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, are set to be filed against the two individuals. The law outlines stringent penalties for those caught in the sale and distribution of illegal narcotics.

Both suspects are now in the custody of the PDEA Regional Office IV-A Detention Facility located in Santa Rosa City, Laguna, where they will await further legal proceedings. Investigators are also probing possible links to other drug syndicates.

This successful operation underscores the continuing efforts of PDEA and local law enforcement agencies in the ongoing war on drugs, which remains a top priority in the fight against criminal activities in the Philippines.
