In a coordinated effort between the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Laguna Provincial Office and the Biñan Component City Police, a major drug bust took place in Barangay San Francisco, Biñan City, Laguna. Authorities successfully confiscated ₱1.7 million worth of ecstasy tablets during the operation, which occurred late in the evening of September 24, 2024, near a gasoline station. The buy-bust operation is seen as a major win in the fight against illegal drugs in the area.

The operation led to the arrest of two high-value drug suspects. The individuals were identified as Mark Marvin Piathong, a 28-year-old online seller from Barangay Molino IV, Bacoor City, Cavite, and Dhaesyrie Dumale, a 20-year-old part-time model from Barangay 178, Camarin, Caloocan City. Both suspects were apprehended on the spot.

Authorities recovered a total of 1,014 ecstasy tablets, with an estimated weight of 400 grams. Along with the illegal drugs, buy-bust money was also seized as part of the operation, further solidifying the case against the suspects.

Following their arrest, the suspects were placed under the custody of the PDEA Regional Office IV-A Detention Facility in Santa Rosa City, Laguna. Law enforcement officials have stated that the suspects will be charged with violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

This significant drug bust highlights the ongoing efforts of law enforcement agencies to curb illegal drug activities in the region. The successful collaboration between PDEA and local police continues to strike against high-value targets involved in the illegal drug trade.
