Suspected Drug Den Dismantled in Antipolo; Five Arrested in Joint Operation

A suspected drug den was dismantled in a joint operation by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Rizal Provincial Office, PDEA Cavite Provincial Office, and the Philippine Air Force Tactical Operations Group 4. The operation took place at around 8:30 p.m. on October 19, 2024, in Barangay San Isidro, Antipolo City, Rizal. It resulted in the arrest of five individuals allegedly involved in illegal drug activities.

The suspects were identified as Alfonso Prejula y Pedere, a 57-year-old married male who is suspected of maintaining the drug den. Along with him, four other individuals were arrested: Leo Sven Olayvar, a 24-year-old investment marketing worker; Rafael Christian Ramos y Posadas, 27, who is currently jobless; Erwin Desipida y Aguilar, a 44-year-old tattoo artist; and Mark Niño Clemente, a 33-year-old driver.

During the operation, authorities seized approximately six grams of suspected shabu, estimated to be worth Php40,800.00. In addition to the illegal drugs, buy-bust money and various drug paraphernalia were also recovered from the site. The confiscated items are now under the custody of the authorities as evidence for the case.

The arrest and dismantling of the drug den were the result of careful planning and coordination among the law enforcement agencies involved. According to officials, the joint operation was initiated following weeks of surveillance and intelligence gathering aimed at curbing illegal drug activities in the area.

Charges will be filed against the suspects for violating Republic Act No. 9165, also known as The Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. If found guilty, the suspects could face severe penalties, including imprisonment and fines, as stipulated under the law.

Authorities have reiterated their commitment to continuing the fight against illegal drugs in the region. They urged the public to remain vigilant and to report any suspicious activities in their communities to help sustain the crackdown on illegal drug operations.
