Sen. Lito Lapid Urges Immediate Aid for Typhoon Kristine Victims

Senator Lito Lapid emphasized the need for urgent assistance to those affected by Typhoon Kristine, as he continued distributing aid despite the ongoing storm. On Wednesday afternoon, around 500 individuals—including hairdressers, tricycle drivers, and patients seeking medical assistance—received help from Lapid during his visit to Boracay Island.

Lapid expressed hope that the assistance would help alleviate the beneficiaries’ needs amid the ongoing crisis. Earlier in the week, he visited Kalibo and Makato for the distribution of aid under the Department of Social Welfare and Development’s (DSWD) AKAP program and the Department of Labor and Employment’s (DOLE) TUPAD initiative.

As Typhoon Kristine brought heavy flooding to parts of Luzon and Visayas, Lapid prayed for the safety of affected communities and called on the public to stay connected with the government and evacuate to safer areas if necessary. His office is currently preparing additional relief efforts for the typhoon victims.
