QUEZON – Sinimulan noong Oktubre 29 ng Quezon HPG-PHPT ang kanilang malawakang “OPLAN LIGTAS UNDAS 2024” sa mga pangunahing kalsada sa lalawigan ng Quezon. Pinangunahan ni Provincial Chief PMAJ Jonathan Victor Olveña ang operasyon, na magtatagal hanggang Nobyembre 4, upang tiyakin ang kaligtasan at kaayusan ng trapiko sa panahon ng Undas.
Layunin ng Quezon PHPT na maging maayos ang daloy ng trapiko, lalo na sa mga pampublikong sementeryo na matatagpuan sa Maharlika Highway. Bukod sa pamamahala sa trapiko, namahagi rin sila ng mga flyers na naglalaman ng mga paalala at tips para sa mga biyahero, kabilang ang mga dapat tandaan sa pag-alis ng bahay at mga alituntunin sa loob ng sementeryo. Kasama rin sa mga paalala ang mga anti-carnapping tips upang maiwasan ang krimen.
Nagsagawa rin ang Quezon PHPT ng terminal inspection sa mga bus na bumiyahe ng malalayong ruta. Pinaalalahanan ang mga driver at konduktor na tiyaking nasa maayos na kondisyon ang kanilang mga sasakyan upang maiwasan ang aksidente at aberya sa daan. Kasabay nito, isinagawa rin ang random drug test sa mga driver at konduktor noong Oktubre 29, katuwang ang LTO, PDEA, at Quezon PPO.
Sa huli, pinaalalahanan ni Maj. Olveña ang mga motorista na sundin ang batas trapiko upang maiwasan ang problema sa biyahe. Ang sinumang lalabag sa batas ay huhulihin at bibigyan ng Temporary Operator’s Permit (TOP), na may karampatang multa sa bawat paglabag.
