Illegal Firearms Suspect Successfully Arrested in Zamboanga City

Zamboanga City, Zamboanga del Sur – On October 30, 2024, personnel from 55SAC, 5th Special Action Battalion, SAF provided tactical support to the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group Zamboanga City Field Unit as lead unit together with other PNP units during a joint law enforcement operation through implementation of search warrant which resulted in the arrest of alias Alex at Omar Drive, Brgy. Arena Blanco, Zamboanga City, Zamboanga del Sur.

Acting on a search warrant targeting a known violator of RA 10591 otherwise known as the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act, the operation initially aimed to apprehend a suspect identified as alias Allan. However, upon conducting the search, the operating troops arrested his cohort, alias Alex, who was at the location and found in possession of a caliber .38 revolver and six rounds of caliber .38 ammunition.

CIDG Zamboanga CFU took custody of the arrested person and seized items for documentation and proper disposition.

The success of the operation reinforces the SAF’s mission to act decisively against illegal activities and continue collaborating with law enforcement agencies to curb criminality in Zamboanga City. The Special Action Force remains steadfast in its dedication to promote peace and public security through highly coordinated and effective tactical operations.
