P170K Worth of Shabu and Firearm Seized in Cainta Buy-Bust Operation

CALABARZON — Three individuals were arrested in a buy-bust operation conducted by the Rizal Police Provincial Office at Q Plaza Mall, Barangay San Isidro, Cainta, Rizal, around 1:40 PM on November 16, 2024.

Police Colonel Felipe B. Maraggun, Rizal PNP Provincial Director, identified the suspects as alias “Pogi,” 37, a resident of Cainta; alias “Rizal,” 34, from Taytay; and alias “Rizza,” 30, a resident of Marikina. Both Pogi and Rizal are considered High-Value Individuals (HVIs) in the illegal drug trade.

According to the Cainta Police, the suspects initially attempted to flee from authorities but were swiftly apprehended. Confiscated during the operation were eight sachets of suspected shabu weighing 25 grams with an estimated street value of PHP 170,000. Also seized were PHP 2,000 in drug money, PHP 1,500 in marked money, a coin purse, a 9mm caliber pistol with four bullets, and a motorcycle.

The suspects are currently detained at the Cainta Custodial Facility and face charges for violating Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002) and Republic Act 10591 (Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act).

The Rizal PNP continues to urge the public to support its intensified campaign against illegal drugs to ensure peace and order in the province.
