Carmona City, Cavite — Thousands of residents gathered on Sunday evening, November 24, 2024, to witness the grand lighting of Tanglaw 2024, marking the official start of the Christmas season at the newly chosen venue, Carmona City Park.

This year, the Christmas lighting event was moved from its traditional location at the City Hall to the City Park to address traffic congestion caused by the growing number of attendees, as explained by Carmona City Mayor Dahlia A. Loyola.

The festive program, organized by the local government unit and led by Mayor Loyola alongside the full Sangguniang Panlungsod, brought together families and even their furry companions to celebrate.

Mayor Loyola proudly highlighted Carmona City’s remarkable achievement as an 8-time consecutive SGLG (Seal of Good Local Governance) awardee.

She noted that the dual lighting of both the City Park and City Hall symbolizes the city’s progress and unity.

Adding to the evening’s excitement, the event also served as a prelude to Carmona’s first-ever Sorteo Festival 2025 as a newly designated city. The audience was treated to the introduction of the candidates for Binibining Sorteo, representing various barangays, who will compete in the upcoming festival.

The vibrant Tanglaw 2024 celebration reflects Carmona City’s commitment to fostering community spirit and celebrating its achievements while embracing the joys of the Christmas season.
