A joint law enforcement operation led to the arrest of a suspected Communist Terrorist Group (CTG) member accused of multiple murder on December 7, 2024, in Sitio Compound, Barangay Luz, Guihulngan City, Negros Oriental.
The operation was carried out by a composite team from the 64th Special Action Company (SAC) and 81st SAC of the 6th Special Action Battalion, along with the Emergency Response and Support Company (ERSC) of the Rapid Deployment Battalion of the Philippine National Police Special Action Force (PNP SAF). Tactical support was provided to the Guihulngan City Police Station and the Negros Oriental Police Provincial Office (NOPPO), with assistance from the Philippine Army and other law enforcement units.
The arrested individual is identified as a non-PSR-listed CTG member affiliated with the dismantled Central Negros 2 faction of the Komiteng Rehiyon-Negros, Cebu, Bohol, and Siquijor (KR-NCBS). The arrest was executed under a warrant issued by the Regional Trial Court Branch 64 of the 7th Judicial Region in Guihulngan City on June 23, 2014, for Criminal Case No. 12-030-G. The warrant pertains to charges of multiple murder, a non-bailable offense.
Following the arrest, the suspect was placed in the custody of the Guihulngan City Police Station for documentation and further legal proceedings.
Authorities emphasized that this operation is part of ongoing efforts to maintain peace and order in Negros Island. The PNP SAF, in coordination with other law enforcement units, remains committed to bringing criminals to justice and ensuring the safety of communities in the region.
