As the clock ticks down to New Year’s Eve, Vice Governor Atty. Karen Agapay reminds pet owners to prioritize the safety and well-being of their furry companions during the festivities. Here are her practical tips to ensure a stress-free and safe celebration for your pets:

Protect Pets from Loud Noises
Pets are highly sensitive to the sound of firecrackers. Keep them indoors where it is quieter. If necessary, consult a veterinarian about calming medications. Exercising your pets during the day can also help them sleep through the night, especially during the peak noise at midnight.

Keep Harmful Foods Away
Chocolates, alcoholic beverages, and cheese are harmful to pets. Ensure these are out of their reach to avoid accidental consumption.

Extend Care to Stray Animals
Don’t forget about stray animals in your area. Treat them with kindness and care, as they also deserve safety and compassion during the celebrations.
