Caloocan City – An anti-illegal drug operation, two high-value individuals (HVIs), identified as Ryjhon Lester De Vera, 21, single, freelancer and John Mark Luigi Del Monte, 27, Married, virtual assistant, both residing in Caloocan, were arrested during a buy-bust operation conducted by operatives of the Caloocan City Police Station (CCPS) on January 3, 2025, at 1:35 AM in Mentors Village Subdivision, Barangay 175, Caloocan City.

Authorities confiscated a staggering 36,530 grams of marijuana with an estimated street value of Php 4,383,600, including 50 grams of high-grade marijuana (kush) worth Php 70,000.

Details of the Operation

The operation was carried out after intelligence reports were received at 2:10 AM, leading to the apprehension of the suspects, who were caught in the act of selling marijuana to a poseur-buyer, Police Staff Sergeant Carlo Dizon.

Recovered from the suspects were:

34 marijuana bricks weighing 34 kilograms (Php 4,080,000)

1 transparent plastic bag containing 50 grams of high-grade marijuana (kush) (Php 70,000)

3 rolled plastic bags with 2.3 kilograms of dried marijuana leaves and stalks (Php 276,000)

1 small marijuana brick weighing 230 grams (Php 27,600)

Buy-bust money, including genuine and counterfeit bills, one (1) piece of genuine Five hundred pesos with thirteen (13) pieces of fake/counterfeit One Thousand peso bill.
Fifteen (15) piece genuine One thousand peso bill and Two (2) pieces Five hundred peso bill.


Both suspects face charges for violating Section 5 (Sale of Dangerous Drugs), Section 11 (Possession of Dangerous Drugs), and Section 26 (Attempt or Conspiracy) under Article II of Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002).

Authorities are continuing their investigation to determine the full extent of the suspects’ illegal drug network.
