Joint Operation Leads to Arrest of Suspect for Illegal Firearms Possession in Nueva Ecija

January 14, 2025 – A collaborative law enforcement operation resulted in the arrest of a suspect known as “Jayson” for illegal possession of firearms and ammunition in Brgy. Sta. Cruz, Cuyapo, Nueva Ecija.

The operation was spearheaded by the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) Nueva Ecija Provincial Field Unit 3 (PFU) with tactical support from the 21st Special Action Company (SAC), 2nd Special Action Battalion of PNP SAF, and other law enforcement units. Acting on Search Warrant No. 02-2025 issued by the Regional Trial Court, 3rd Judicial Region, Branch 26, Cabanatuan City, the team apprehended the suspect and seized several firearms and ammunition, including:

An improvised caliber .22 rifle

A caliber .45 pistol with one magazine assembly and 41 rounds of ammunition

A camouflage sling bag

An ammo box

The arrested suspect and confiscated items are now under the custody of CIDG Nueva Ecija PFU 3 for documentation and proper legal procedures.

This successful operation highlights the commitment of the PNP SAF and CIDG in enforcing the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act (R.A. 10591) and ensuring the safety of communities in Nueva Ecija.
