Calamba, Laguna – This is a major blow against illegal drug activities, the Angono Municipal Police Station arrested five individuals and confiscated Php 2.7 million worth of shabu during a successful anti-drug operation in Barangay San Isidro, Angono, Rizal, on January 19, 2025, at 6:18 PM.

The arrested suspects, identified as alias “Rodney” (27), alias “Melquiadez” (73), and alias “Gladdys” (45), all residents of Barangay San Isidro, were tagged as High-Value Individuals (HVI) on the drug watchlist. Two others, alias “Jose” (32) from Barangay Muzon, Taytay, and alias “Samuel” (48) from Barangay San Isidro, were listed as Street-Level Individuals (SLI).

During the operation, authorities confiscated 400 grams of suspected shabu packed in 13 plastic sachets, alongside two Android phones, a digital weighing scale, a brown handbag, and buy-bust money. The illegal drugs seized have an estimated standard drug price of Php 2,720,000.

Police Regional Director PBGen Paul Kenneth T. Lucas commended the team for their successful operation. “This accomplishment demonstrates our relentless efforts in combating illegal drugs. The arrest of these high-value individuals is a significant step toward ensuring the safety and security of the community. We will continue to intensify our operations to protect the public and uphold the rule of law,” he stated.

The suspects are currently detained at the Angono Municipal Police Station Custodial Facility, while charges for violations of Republic Act 9165, the “Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002,” are being prepared for filing at the Rizal Provincial Prosecutor’s Office in Taytay.

Authorities have reaffirmed their commitment to eradicating illegal drug activities in Rizal, emphasizing that their operations will persist until every community is drug-free.
