PRO CALABARZON Leads by Example: Surprise Drug Test Ensures Integrity and Accountability Among Personnel

Camp BGen Vicente P. Lim, Calamba City – A decisive move to uphold the highest standards of integrity and professionalism within its ranks, the Police Regional Office CALABARZON (PRO4A) conducted a surprise drug test on its personnel immediately after the Monday Flag Raising Ceremony today at the Covered Court, Camp BGen Vicente P. Lim.

This unannounced initiative, spearheaded by Regional Director PBGEN Paul Kenneth P. Lucas, is part of PRO4A’s intensified internal cleansing program. It aims to ensure that every member of the command serves as a role model of discipline and adherence to the laws they enforce.

“As public servants entrusted with the safety and welfare of our communities, it is imperative that we serve as role models in adhering to the laws we enforce. This surprise drug test is a proactive measure to maintain the credibility and integrity of PRO CALABARZON,” RD Lucas emphasized.

The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency 4A supervised the activity, with Intelligence Officer 1 Ms. Venus G. Magtibay and Chemist 1 Ms. Marie Celestine A. Dela Cruz overseeing the procedures. In coordination with the Regional Intelligence Division and the Regional Forensic Unit 4A, strict protocols were followed to ensure impartiality and accuracy in testing.

“This initiative aligns with the directives of the Chief, PNP, to promote accountability and professionalism across all police offices nationwide. By fostering a drug-free workplace, the PRO4A affirms its commitment to serving the communities of CALABARZON with honor and integrity,” PBGEN Lucas stated.

Any personnel found positive for illegal drug use will face swift administrative and criminal charges, reinforcing the organization’s zero-tolerance policy on illegal drugs.

“Through this continued cleansing of our ranks, we guarantee the integrity of the Police Regional Office CALABARZON, especially as we approach the 2025 National and Midterm Elections, where the services of our police force will be crucial,” RD Lucas concluded.

The move underscores PRO4A’s unwavering dedication to public service and its firm stand against illegal drugs, starting from within its organization.
