Private Nurse Arrested for Allegedly Beating 7-Year-Old to Near Death

Caloocan City, Philippines – A 30-year-old private nurse was arrested on Friday after allegedly repeatedly beating a 7-year-old child, leaving the victim with serious injuries.

Alyas Esguerra was apprehended at her residence in Barangay 172, Caloocan City. The incident occurred inside the suspect’s bathroom.

According to a 6-year-old witness, a classmate of the victim, Esguerra suddenly grabbed the 7-year-old and repeatedly slammed the child’s head on the floor. A sibling of the suspect heard the commotion and found the victim lying in a pool of blood. The child was rushed to Camarin Doctors Hospital.
The victim’s father, Jesus, filed a complaint against Esguerra at the Hillcrest Police Substation 8. Police officers Beverly M. Caguindangan and Jesabeth M. Donato responded to the scene and arrested the suspect.

Esguerra has been charged with frustrated murder and is now under the custody of the Hillcrest Police Substation 8.
