Construction Worker, Arestado sa Caloocan Dahil sa Illegal na Pagtatago ng Baril

Caloocan City — Arestado ang isang lalaki na dati nang nakulong sa kasong robbery at paglabag sa RA 9165 matapos mahuli sa pag-iingat ng ilegal na baril sa isang operasyon ng DSOU sa Bagong Silang, Caloocan, nitong Pebrero 3, 2025.

Sa bisa ng search warrant, matagumpay na isinagawa ng mga operatiba ng District Special Operations Unit (DSOU) ng Northern Police District (NPD) at NPD-DID Personnel ang operasyon sa pangunguna ni PLT Wilfredo B. Basilio, Commander ng NPD-DID, sa ilalim ng direktang superbisyon ni PLTCOL Alain Terence L. Licdan, Chief of Police ng DSOU.

Kinilala ang suspek na si Joven Roxas y Bernillo, 46 taong gulang, isang construction worker at residente ng Blk. 15, Lot 19, Phase 3-E1, Teachers Village, Brgy. 12, Caloocan City.

Ayon sa ulat, ipinatupad ng PNP DSOU at NPD-DID ang Search Warrant No. SW-430, na nilagdaan ni Hon. Glenda K. Cabello-Marin, Executive Judge ng RTC Branch 124, laban kay Roxas para sa paglabag sa RA 10591 o Comprehensive Law on Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act.

Sa isinagawang operasyon, naitala sa body-worn camera at alternative camera, nasaksihan ko, kinatawan bilang media, Renato Pedroche at isang barangay kagawad, nasamsam mula sa suspek ang Isang (1) .9mm caliber pistol na walang serial number at Apat (4) na piraso ng live ammunition

Inamin ng suspek na nabili niya ang naturang baril mula sa isang kaibigan. Matapos basahan ng kanyang mga karapatan, nahaharap na siya sa kasong paglabag sa RA 10591.

Sa kasalukuyan, nasa kustodiya na ng NPD-DSOU ang suspek para sa karagdagang imbestigasyon at legal na proseso.
