Suspect Arrested in Capiz for Violating Election Code and Firearms Law

A joint law enforcement operation led by the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) – Capiz Provincial Field Unit (PFU), with tactical support from the 62nd Special Action Company (SAC), 6th Special Action Battalion of the PNP Special Action Force (SAF), resulted in the successful arrest of a suspect known as alias “Ronald” in Angle Ville, San Jose, Roxas City on February 5, 2025.

Authorities apprehended the suspect while implementing Search Warrant No. 05-2025, issued by the Regional Trial Court, 6th Judicial Region, Branch 17, Roxas City, for violations of Republic Act 10591 (Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act) and Batas Pambansa Blg. 881 (Omnibus Election Code).

During the operation, law enforcement officers confiscated a caliber 9mm pistol, a steel magazine, 11 rounds of 9mm ammunition, five rounds of caliber .45 ammunition, a black sling bag, and a small transparent white box.

The CIDG-Capiz PFU has taken custody of the suspect and seized items for proper documentation and legal proceedings.

The success of this operation highlights the PNP SAF’s strong commitment to public safety and law enforcement, particularly in ensuring the enforcement of firearms regulations and election-related laws. Through continued collaboration and strategic actions, authorities remain steadfast in their mission to uphold peace and security in the community.
