High-Value Drug Suspect Nabbed in Angono, P884K Worth of Shabu Seized

The Angono Municipal Police Station’s Drug Enforcement Team arrested a High-Value Individual (HVI) with Php 884,000 worth of shabu during a drug bust in Brgy. Bagumbayan, Angono, Rizal, at around 1:16 AM on February 12, 2025.

The suspect, identified as alias “Speed,” 38, a resident of Brgy. San Isidro, Angono, had been under surveillance as an HVI actively involved in the illegal drug trade in the area.

Based on intelligence gathered from a confidential informant, the police staged a buy-bust operation that led to the confiscation of 130 grams of shabu, packed in seven heat-sealed sachets and a knot-tied plastic bag. Alongside the illegal drugs, authorities also seized a sling bag and the buy-bust money used in the operation.

Regional Director PBGEN Paul Kenneth T Lucas praised the efforts of the Angono MPS operatives, stating, “This operation underscores our relentless fight against illegal drugs in CALABARZON. Criminals who peddle drugs will find no safe haven in our region.”

The suspect was subjected to a medical examination at the Rizal Provincial Hospital System before being handed over to the Rizal Provincial Forensic Unit for further processing. Currently detained at the Angono MPS Custodial Facility, the suspect faces charges for violations of Sections 5 and 11 of Republic Act 9165, also known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

This successful operation serves as a stern warning to drug traffickers and a testament to the unwavering commitment of CALABARZON police to eradicate illegal drugs from the region.
