Takbo Para sa Ngiting Panalo: PDA Laguna Chapter Kicks Off National Dental Health Month in Santa Rosa

Santa Rosa, Laguna – The Philippine Dental Association (PDA) Laguna Chapter officially launched the National Dental Health Month (NDHM) in the Luzon South region with a successful fun run titled “Takbo Para sa Ngiting Panalo” on February 11, 2025. Held at the Santa Rosa Business Park in Greenfield City, the event brought together participants from all walks of life to promote oral health and wellness.

The fun run, which began at 5:30 AM, featured multiple race categories, including a popular 3K run with a PHP 750 registration fee. Participants, including individuals, groups, and dental clinics such as V. San Juan Dental Clinic, enthusiastically joined the event in support of the advocacy for better oral health practices.

During the event, PDA President Ronnie Nuñez emphasized the importance of preventive dental care, saying:
“Preventive care and proper oral hygiene are far better than taking late action on tooth loss. A healthy smile reflects not just oral health but overall well-being. Let us all prioritize regular dental check-ups and maintain good oral hygiene to prevent problems before they occur.”

The event served as a call to action for Filipinos to take oral health seriously. Organizers highlighted the significance of preventive measures like daily brushing, flossing, and regular visits to the dentist as a means to avoid more severe dental problems in the future.

“Takbo Para sa Ngiting Panalo” also featured a lively and family-friendly atmosphere, with music, wellness booths, and opportunities for participants to learn more about proper oral hygiene practices.

“This is not just a fun run; it’s a movement to spread awareness about the importance of oral health in achieving a better quality of life. A healthy smile is truly a winning smile,” said a PDA Laguna Chapter representative.

As the kick-off event for NDHM, the fun run set a positive tone for the rest of the month’s activities, which will include dental missions, educational campaigns, and other community-focused initiatives aimed at promoting oral health across the country.

With smiles, energy, and advocacy at the forefront, “Takbo Para sa Ngiting Panalo” proved to be both impactful and enjoyable, reinforcing the PDA’s commitment to improving dental health for all Filipinos.
