Surigao del Sur – On February 18, 2025, personnel from 14SAC of 1st Special Action Battalion of PNP SAF provided tactical support to the elements of Surigao del Sur Provincial Intelligence Team Regional Intelligence Unit 13 as lead unit, and Lianga Municipal Police Station in a counterinsurgency operation that resulted in the arrest of alias “Jonathan” in Brgy. Diatagon, Lianga, Surigao del Sur.

Arrested person is listed as the No. 7 Regional Level Most Wanted Person (MWP) of PRO 13 for the month of February 2025. He was apprehended by virtue of a Warrant of Arrest with Criminal Case No. L-2417 for Rebellion, issued by Regional Trial Court, 11th Judicial Region, Branch 28, Lianga, Surigao del Sur. Based on reports, he is a non-PSR-listed CTG member under the Dismantled Guerilla Front 19, Sub-Regional Committee South Land, North Eastern Mindanao Regional Committee and is one of the accused during the April 28, 2021 attack at the Lianga Municipal Hall, which targeted personnel of the Lianga MPS and AFP assigned within the area and the burning of aforementioned station and municipal hall.

Lianga MPS, Surigao del Sur PPO took custody of the arrested person for documentation and proper disposition.

The success of the operation is a testament to the ongoing efforts of the PNP SAF and other law enforcement units in combating insurgency and upholding the rule of law in the region.
