Electric Wire Theft Foiled: Biñan SWAT Team Praised for Quick Response

Biñan City, Laguna — Two thieves were apprehended early morning on February 20, 2025, thanks to the swift action of the SWAT Team from the Biñan Component City Police Station (CCPS).

According to Laguna Police Provincial Director, PCOL Ricardo I. Dalmacia, the suspects were identified as aliases Jejomar and Angelo, both residents of San Pedro, Laguna.

In a report by PLTCOL Allan Reginald L. Basiya of Biñan CCPS, two security guards approached the patrolling SWAT Team around 2:10 AM at Biñan Plaza, seeking assistance in chasing the suspects. Responding immediately, authorities confronted the suspects. Angelo drew a firearm and fired at the officers, prompting PSSg Bawalan of the SWAT Team to return fire in self-defense, hitting Angelo in the lower left abdomen.

The injured suspect was rushed to the nearest hospital for treatment, while Jejomar was arrested and is currently in the custody of Biñan CCPS.

Recovered from the suspects were electric wires worth approximately PhP50,000.00, a cutting wire, and a .38 caliber revolver without a serial number.

Documents are being prepared for the filing of appropriate charges against the suspects.

“I commend Biñan CCPS for their swift and decisive response, which led to the prompt arrest of the culprits and the faithful execution of their sworn duties,” said PCOL Dalmacia.

This incident highlights the readiness and dedication of Biñan PNP in ensuring public safety and security.
