Empowering Aeta Girls: Special Action Force Champions Education in Bataan

Brgy. Biritan, Morong, Bataan – March 8, 2025 — In celebration of International Women’s Month, the Special Action Force (SAF) of the 2nd Special Action Battalion (2SAB), led by PLTCOL Ray Balcueva, organized the “Girl Power: Upholding the Universal Right to Education” initiative, benefiting over 100 school-aged girls from the Kanawan Aeta Community.

Held in Brgy. Biritan, Morong, Bataan, the event provided young Aeta girls with essential school supplies, including school bags, food containers, water containers, and slippers, reinforcing their right to education and their aspirations for a better future. The girls expressed joy as they freely chose their preferred designs and colors, fostering a sense of empowerment and ownership over their learning journey.

PLTCOL Balcueva, in his inspirational message, emphasized the SAF’s commitment to supporting indigenous communities. “These slippers symbolize that the Special Action Force will walk with you on your journey to success because the best destinations come from the hardest climb,” he said.

The initiative underscores the power of education in breaking barriers and uplifting marginalized communities, ensuring that young Aeta girls have the tools and encouragement they need to pursue their dreams.
