PNP SAF, Davao Police Uncover CTG Arms Cache in Paquibato District

A joint counterinsurgency operation led by personnel from the 13th Special Action Company (13SAC), 1st Special Action Battalion of the PNP Special Action Force (SAF), in coordination with PS 7 of the Paquibato District Police and the 1st CMFC of the Regional Mobile Force Battalion 11 (RMFB 11), resulted in the recovery of a Communist Terrorist Group (CTG) arms cache in Sitio Bacsarpa, Barangay Sumimao, Paquibato District.

The discovery was made possible through intelligence provided by alias Ka Larry, a former member of the dismantled Pulang Bagani Command 1 (PBC1) of the Southern Mindanao Regional Committee (SMRC). Ka Larry was identified as the No. 1 Regional Level Most Wanted Person of the Police Regional Office 11 (PRO 11) in September 2022 and was arrested on February 23, 2025.

Authorities recovered a caliber 5.56mm M16 rifle with a loaded magazine from the hidden cache. The confiscated firearm is now under the custody of PS 7, Paquibato District, Davao City Police Office, for proper documentation and disposal.

This successful operation highlights the PNP’s unwavering efforts to dismantle remaining CTG networks and ensure lasting peace and security in Davao City.
