MPTC Launches ‘Biyaheng Arangkada Semana Santa’ to Ensure Safe and Seamless Holy Week Travel

Metro Pacific Tollways Corporation (MPTC) rolls out comprehensive motorist assistance program across its expressway network from April 16 to 21, 2025

Metro Pacific Tollways Corporation (MPTC), operator of major expressways including NLEX, SCTEX, CALAX, CAVITEX, NLEX Connector, and CCLEX, is set to launch its “Biyaheng Arangkada Semana Santa” motorist assistance program to ensure a smooth, safe, and stress-free travel experience for motorists during the Holy Week rush from April 16 to 21, 2025.

For CAVITEX, the initiative is jointly implemented with the Philippine Reclamation Authority through PEA Tollway Corporation.

Anticipating a 10% surge in traffic volume during the holiday period, MPTC has deployed a multi-pronged approach focused on enhanced road assistance, efficient toll operations, RFID readiness, and road safety education.

Key Features of the “Biyaheng Arangkada” Program:

1. Enhanced Roadside Assistance and Emergency Support

24/7 hotline (1-35000) and MPT DriveHub app for emergency assistance

Roadside assistance stations strategically located along all MPTC expressways

Over 2,000 personnel deployed from April 8 for traffic management and emergency response

Free on-call emergency medical services along expressways

Free basic mechanical services at select Rest and Refuel stations

Free towing for Class 1 vehicles and Class 1M (for CCLEX) to the nearest exit on the following dates:

NLEX, SCTEX, CALAX, CCLEX, and NLEX Connector:
April 9, 6:00 AM – April 14, 6:00 AM and April 16, 6:00 AM – April 21, 6:00 AM

CAVITEX:
April 16, 6:00 AM – April 20, 6:00 PM

2. RFID Assistance and Fast, Cashless Toll Transactions

Easytrip and CCLEX RFID assistance for installation, reloading, and inquiries

Encouragement of RFID use to reduce toll plaza congestion

MPT DriveHub app available for real-time balance checks and toll calculations

RFID sticker replacements available at designated service centers

3. Traveler Comfort and Convenience

Free Wi-Fi (powered by SMART) and drinking water (courtesy of Maynilad) at select stops

Free health consultations (in partnership with MWell) at NLEX Rest and Refuel stations

EV charging stations available at selected NLEX areas (powered by AC Mobility)

4. Road Safety Reminders

Pre-trip vehicle checks: tires, fluids, lights, and brakes

Regular breaks to combat fatigue

Adherence to speed limits and lane discipline
