Manny Pacquiao, Inendorso ni Vilma Santos sa Batangas

BATANGAS City — Inendorso ni dating Batangas Governor at batikang aktres na si Vilma Santos-Recto ang kandidatura boxing legend at dating senador Manny Pacquiao nitong Sabado.

Inaasahan na lalo pang lalakas ang suporta kay Pacquiao, hindi lamang sa Batangas kundi sa buong Southern Luzon dahil sa pag-endorso.

Sa ginanap na Alyansa para sa Bagong Pilipinas rally sa Lungsod ng Batangas, inilatag ni Pacquiao ang kanyang agenda sa lehislatura na nakatutok sa kaunlaran ng kanayunan—lalo na sa mga marginalized community at mga pamilyang nasalanta ng kalamidad.

“Ang Batangas at ang buong bansa ay nararapat magkaroon ng mga lider na tunay na lalaban para sa karaniwang Pilipino. Sa pamamagitan ng mga programang pangkabuhayan, suporta sa MSMEs, at libreng pabahay para sa mahihirap at mga biktima ng kalamidad, maibabalik natin ang dignidad at pag-asa sa ating mga kababayan”ani Pacquiao

Isa sa sentrong bahagi ng plataporma ni Pacquiao ang pagbuhay muli sa kanyang panukala na Senate Bill No. 239 o ang “Free Housing Through On-Site, In-City, or Near-City Resettlement Act”, na muli niyang isusulong sakaling mahalal.

Ipinaglalaban din niya ang pagpapaunlad ng kabataan sa pamamagitan ng sports, pagpapalawak ng mga kooperatiba at community enterprises, at ang pagpasa ng Cooperative Empowerment Act upang makapagbigay ng kapital sa maliliit na negosyante sa mga probinsya.

“Ipagpatuloy natin ang ating programa para sa mga mahihirap—ang pagbibigay ng libreng tahanan, libreng bahay, at higit sa lahat, puhunan para may hanapbuhay, kapital para makapagsimula ng negosyo,” ani Pacquiao.

Si Santos-Recto, na mataas ang respeto sa larangan ng pulitika at showbiz, ay nagpahayag ng paghanga sa matibay na paninindigan ni Pacquiao para sa mga mahihirap.

“Lagi namang may malasakit si Manny sa mahihirap. Naniniwala ako sa kanyang adbokasiya na tumulong sa mga komunidad, hindi lang sa Batangas kundi sa buong bansa. Ang kanyang pagbabalik sa Senado ay magdadala ng konkretong aksyon para sa mga higit na nangangailangan,” ani Santos-Recto.
