Calamba City, Laguna — The spirit of patriotism soared high as Calambeños gathered at Calamba City Hall to commemorate the 127th Anniversary of Philippine Independence, reaffirming their commitment to freedom, unity, and public service.

Congresswoman Cha Hernandez-Alcantara joined the celebration, delivering a heartfelt message of remembrance and responsibility.

“Today, we honor the sacrifices of our heroes who fought for the freedom we now enjoy,” she said. “Let us not waste what they died for—let us continue their legacy through unity, compassion, and honest service to our nation.”

The Congresswoman reminded the people that Independence Day is not only a celebration, but a solemn reminder of the collective duty to protect the hard-earned liberty passed down by the nation’s forebears.

“Every act of service—big or small—must be grounded in this freedom. For a better, more humane, and just Calamba and Philippines, change remains possible. And it is in our hands to carry it forward.”

The event at the City Hall served as a powerful reminder of both the history and the hope that live on in every Calambeño, as the city proudly joins the entire nation in celebrating the country’s independence.
