High-Value Drug Target and Two Others Nabbed in Taytay Buy-Bust; P1M Worth of Shabu Seized

A high-value drug target and two street-level suspects were arrested in a successful buy-bust operation conducted by the Taytay Municipal Police Station (MPS) in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) in the early hours of July 6, 2025.

The operation took place at Blk. 31, San Lorenzo Ruiz Phase 1, Barangay San Juan, Taytay, Rizal, and led to the arrest of alias “Bibidu”, 26, a taxi rider identified as a High Value Individual (HVI); alias “Balong”, 30, a Lalamove driver; and alias “Pusa”, 37, a tricycle driver—all suspected of involvement in illegal drug activities.

According to reports, the operation began around 1:05 a.m. when alias “Bibidu” sold a sachet of suspected shabu to a poseur-buyer. Authorities immediately apprehended him and recovered two additional sachets of the illegal substance in his possession.

The two other suspects, caught allegedly attempting to buy drugs from “Bibidu” at the same location, were also arrested on the spot. Confiscated from “Balong” were one sachet of shabu, a loaded .22 caliber revolver, and cash. Meanwhile, “Pusa” was also found in possession of a sachet of shabu.

A total of five sachets of suspected shabu, weighing approximately 150 grams and with an estimated street value of ₱1,020,000, were recovered during the operation. Also seized were marked buy-bust money, additional cash, mobile phones, drug paraphernalia, and a small firearm.

The suspects were brought to the Taytay MPS for proper documentation and are temporarily detained at the Fishport Custodial Facility. Charges are being prepared for violations of Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002) and RA 10591 (Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act).

PBGEN Jack L. Wanky, Director of Police Regional Office CALABARZON, lauded the success of the operation and reaffirmed the region’s commitment to eradicating the drug menace.

“This operation is proof of our relentless efforts in the fight against illegal drugs. We will continue to work hand-in-hand with the community to eliminate this threat,” PBGEN Wanky said.

He also urged the public to report suspicious activities and cooperate with authorities to maintain peace and safety.
