CIDG Chief Leads Launch of Specialized Investigative Training in CALABARZON

Camp Vicente Lim, Calamba City — Demonstrating a firm commitment to improving the expertise and sensitivity of police investigators, Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) Director, Police Brigadier General Romeo J. Macapaz, presided over the simultaneous launch of three key investigative training courses under the Police Regional Office CALABARZON (PRO4A).

The training programs include the Investigation Officers Basic Course (IOBC), the Criminal Investigation Course (CIC), and the Women and Children Protection Desk Specialized Course (WCPDSC). These are designed to equip police personnel across the region with advanced investigative skills, comprehensive legal knowledge, and a deeper understanding of victim-centered approaches, especially for vulnerable sectors.

PBGEN Macapaz emphasized the vital role of well-trained investigators in delivering justice and restoring public trust in law enforcement.
“These courses represent our dedication to professionalism and compassion in policing. We must not only pursue suspects but also protect victims—especially women and children—with empathy and resolve,” he said during his keynote speech.

Through this initiative, PRO4A continues to build a responsive and skilled police force capable of handling complex criminal cases while upholding the rights and dignity of every individual. The training reflects the Philippine National Police’s broader goal of raising standards in crime-solving and community service.
