LAGUNA — Arestado ang apat na katao sa isinagawang joint buy-bust operation ng Provincial Special Operations Unit (PSOU) ng Laguna PPO at Mabitac Municipal Police Station madaling araw ng Hulyo 27, 2025.

Kinilala ni Laguna Police Provincial Director, PCOL JONAR R YUPIO, ang mga suspek na si alyas Retchel residente ng Davao Del Norte, alyas Romy residente ng Las Piñas City, alyas Mond residente ng Mabitac, Laguna at si alyas Joseph na residente ng Tanza, Cavite.

Base sa report ng PSOU, sa pamumuno ni PMAJ SERAFIN E GAPUNUAN, Assistant Chief ng PIU/PSOU nagkasa sila ng joint buy-bust operation kasama ang Mabitac MPS bandang 12:26 ng madaling araw ng Hulyo 27 sa may Brgy. Paagahan, Mabitac, Laguna.

Ang nasabing operasyon ay nagresulta sa pagkakaaresto ng apat na mga suspek matapos magbenta ng mga hinihinalang smuggled na sigarilyo sa pulis na nagpanggap bilang poseur buyer kapalit ang buy-bust money.

Narekober sa mga suspek ang labing-limang (15) kahon ng “ORIS” brand ng mga sigarilyo na may tinatayang halaga na aabot sa PhP 240,000.00, ang bawat isang kahon nito ay nagkakahalaga ng PhP 16,000.00; isang (1) piraso ng genuine PhP 1,000.00 bill at boodle money na nagkakahalaga ng PhP 100,000.00 na ginamit bilang marked money; isang (1) unit ng Toyota Hi-Ace Super Grandia (white) at isang (1) unit ng Toyota Avanza (black).

Samantala, ang mga naarestong suspek ay nabigong magpakita ng mga kaukulang dokumento o permit na nagbibigay sa kanila ng pahintulot na magbenta ng mga nasabing sigarilyo.

Kasalukuyang nasa kustodiya ng Mabitac MPS ang mga arestadong suspek habang inihahanda ang mga kaukulang dokumento para sa pagsasampa ng kaso laban sa kanila dahil sa paglabag sa Section 263 ng National Internal Revenue Code (NIRC), na inamyendahan ng Republic Act 7394 (Consumer Act of the Philippines); at Republic Act 10643 (Graphic Health Warnings Law) in relation to the Smuggling and Sale of Illicit Cigarettes.
