San Pedro City, Laguna — Pormal nang binuksan sa publiko ang bagong San Pedro Northbound Entry at Exit Interchange sa South Luzon Expressway (SLEX) na matatagpuan sa Brgy. San Antonio, simula ngayong Agosto 1.
Inaasahang makatutulong nang malaki ang bagong interchange sa pagpapaluwag ng daloy ng trapiko at sa patuloy na pag-unlad ng lungsod ng San Pedro at buong lalawigan ng Laguna.
Ang proyekto ay naisakatuparan sa inisyatiba ni San Pedro City Lone District Congresswoman Ann Matibag sa kanyang unang termino sa Kongreso. Ayon kay Cong. Matibag, ito ang kanyang kauna-unahang “love letter” sa Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) upang maisulong ang pagpapatapos ng proyektong unang sinimulan nina dating Congresswoman Arlene Arcillas at dating Mayor Lourdes “Baby” Cataquiz.
Dumalo sa opisyal na pagbubukas ng nasabing imprastraktura sina DPWH Secretary Manuel M. Bonoan, Department of Transportation (DOTr) Secretary Vince B. Dizon, Laguna Governor Sol Aragones, Santa Rosa City Mayor Arlene Arcillas, Biñan City Lone District Congressman Arman Dimaguila, San Pedro City Mayor Art Mercado, Brgy. San Antonio ABC President Chairman Jun Ynion, dating Mayor Lourdes Cataquiz, at iba pang opisyal mula sa pambansa at lokal na pamahalaan.
Ang pagbubukas ng bagong exit ay bahagi ng patuloy na pagsusumikap ng mga kinauukulan upang mapabuti ang accessibility at connectivity sa rehiyon, na magdudulot ng mas mabilis na biyahe para sa mga motorista at karagdagang oportunidad sa negosyo at hanapbuhay sa lungsod.
