MPCALA Holdings Bags Double Green Awards for Sustainability Excellence in Santa Rosa

Laguna — MPCALA Holdings Inc., concessionaire of the Cavite-Laguna Expressway (CALAX) and a subsidiary of Metro Pacific Tollways Corporation, has been awarded two Green Awards this year, marking its third consecutive year of recognition in the esteemed program organized by the City Government of Santa Rosa last August 15, 2025.

The Santa Rosa City Green Awards is a platform that acknowledges outstanding efforts and initiatives in promoting sustainability and environmental protection. This year, MPCALA received two notable recognitions. One was a Plaque of Appreciation as a Sustainable Development Partner, given to organizations and individuals who actively contribute to the city’s environmental conservation efforts and participate meaningfully in green programs. MPCALA earned this for its commitment to fostering a culture of conservation and environmental awareness through initiatives such as clean-up drives, tree planting activities, and participation in the annual International Coastal Cleanup.

The second recognition was the Earth Hour Advocate Award, honoring MPCALA’s strong support for the global Earth Hour movement. The company has encouraged communities and industries along the expressway corridor to switch off non-essential lights, highlighting the importance of energy conservation in mitigating climate change.

In addition, MPCALA continues to advance eco-friendly practices in infrastructure development, staying true to its vision of being a green expressway. Its design incorporates renewable energy technologies and nature-inspired features that not only minimize its carbon footprint but also enhance the driving experience.

Santa Rosa City Mayor Arlene B. Arcillas also emphasized the significance of the awards program.
