Mayor Ross Rizal Leads City Solid Waste Management Board Meeting, Pushes Stronger Waste Programs for Cleaner Calamba

Calamba City, Laguna — Mayor Roseller “Ross” H. Rizal led the recent City Solid Waste Management (CSWM) Board meeting, underscoring the city government’s commitment to effective waste management and a cleaner, safer environment for all Calambeños.

The meeting highlighted updates and innovations in solid waste solutions presented by HMR Envirocycle Phils., Inc. and Envirotech Waste Recycling Inc. Members also approved the minutes of the 2nd Quarterly Meeting and adopted key resolutions that will strengthen Calamba’s waste management initiatives:

Resolution No. 08 – Endorsing the Updated 10-Year City Solid Waste Management Plan to the DENR-EMB and NSWMC.

Resolution No. 09 – Enhancing the operations of Barangay Eco-centers through “Waste Exchange Day.”

Resolution No. 10 – Recommending a partnership between the City Government of Calamba and HMR Envirocycle Phils., Inc. for the proper collection and management of electronic waste (e-waste).

“These efforts are concrete steps toward a more progressive waste management program in our city—ensuring a cleaner, more orderly, and more developed Calamba,” Mayor Rizal said.

The strengthened measures reflect the city’s continuing drive to build sustainable waste solutions while promoting community participation for environmental protection and long-term urban development.
