Calamba Rep. Cha Hernandez-Alcantara Pushes Classroom Acceleration Bill to End Nationwide Shortage

Calamba City, Laguna — Representative Charisse Anne “Cha” Hernandez-Alcantara of the lone district of Calamba City proudly announced her sponsorship of House Bill 5211, also known as the Classroom-Acceleration-Program (CAP) Bill, during discussions before the House Committee on Basic Education.

“We’re proud to sponsor HB 5211 or the Classroom-Acceleration-Program Bill before the Committee on Basic Education,” Hernandez-Alcantara said, emphasizing the urgency of addressing the country’s longstanding classroom shortage.

She noted that empowering more sectors to participate in classroom construction will significantly speed up efforts to close gaps in public school infrastructure. “Naniniwala tayong mas maraming kayang magpatayo ng classroom, mas bibilis ang pagresolba sa classroom shortage,” she added.

The Calamba lawmaker also highlighted that the measure complements the Senate version filed by Senator Bam Aquino. “Tayo ang nag-file nito sa House bilang suporta natin sa CAP Bill na inihain na ni Sen. Bam Aquino sa Senado. It’s time na magkaisa tayo to end the classroom shortage and provide quality education for all of our children.”

Ending her statement with a reminder of her advocacy, she said: “Lagi’t laging para sa mga bata!”
