SANTA ROSA, Laguna — The Chief Operating Officer of Enchanted Kingdom (EK), Dr. Cynthia R. Mamon, formally took her oath as the new president of the Laguna Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Inc. (LCCI) during an induction ceremony held on February 16 at the theme park in Santa Rosa City.


The oath-taking of newly elected LCCI officers was led by Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI) South Luzon Area Vice President Hoover Picar and Regional Governor Mary Ann Katigbak.


In her acceptance speech, Mamon outlined four key priorities under her leadership: livelihood and labor concerns, corporate sustainability, community empowerment, and innovation with integrity. She said these principles align with PCCI South Luzon’s guiding values of Volunteerism, Excellence, Service, and Integrity (VESI).


“We are committed to focus on Livelihood and labor concerns, Corporate sustainability, Community empowerment, and Innovation with integrity. Through these, we look forward to transforming the lives of the people working for our companies and the communities we serve,” Mamon said.


Now celebrating its 50th anniversary, LCCI is a non-stock, non-profit, and non-government organization composed of small, medium, and large enterprises across Laguna. The chamber works to foster a stronger and more sustainable local economy while promoting growth, resilience, and competitiveness within the province’s business sector.


Among those present during the induction ceremony were Department of Labor and Employment – National Conciliation and Mediation Board IV-A Director Cynthia Foncardas, Laguna Economic Development and Investment Promotions Office Head Fatima Villaseñor, PCCI Los Baños President Grace Bondad Nicolas, PCCI Quezon City President Anne Marie Francisco, and PCCI Lipa City President Marites Jumarang. Past LCCI presidents Atty. Rose Lynn Zara-Coloma, Marvin Adolfo, Virgilio Lorenzo, and Richard Albert Osmond also attended, along with EK President and Chairman Cesar Mario O. Mamon.


An economic briefing by Prof. Ronilo Balbieran of the University of Asia and the Pacific followed the induction ceremony.


Even before her recent appointment, EK has been an active member of LCCI, with Cesar Mario O. Mamon having previously served as its president from 2006 to 2007.


Championing Tourism Development
Apart from her new role in LCCI, Mamon was also reelected as president of the Laguna Tourism Council (LTC). She officially assumed her new term together with other LTC officers during an oath-taking ceremony administered by Sol Aragones on January 22 in Santa Cruz, Laguna.


LTC is a provincial multi-sectoral body composed of representatives from various government and private organizations. It plays a key role in positioning Laguna as a premier tourism destination in the country.


Since assuming leadership of the council in 2023, Mamon has worked closely with the Provincial Government of Laguna and various partner organizations nationwide to promote tourism, culture, heritage, and the arts to both domestic and international audiences. The council also supports Laguna-based micro, small, and medium enterprises by providing platforms to showcase their products and craftsmanship through various events and collaborations within and outside the province.


Enchanted Kingdom, now in its 30th year, continues to advocate for industry growth, sustainability, and tourism development in Laguna and beyond.
