CAVITE, Philippines — March 24, 2026 — In a strong display of accountability and intensified anti-drug efforts, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) led the destruction of illegal drugs valued at ₱4,563,517,903.02 in an operation held in Trece Martires City.


The large-scale disposal activity was witnessed by Jonvic Remulla, Secretary of the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG), who served as Guest of Honor and Speaker. Also present were representatives from the Department of Justice (DOJ), various law enforcement agencies, non-government organizations, media partners, and local government officials—underscoring the administration’s push for transparency and public accountability.


A total of 1,136.5521 kilograms of solid illegal drugs and 657.1300 milliliters of liquid substances were destroyed through thermal decomposition (thermolysis).

Among the substances eliminated were:
555.2393 kg of Methamphetamine Hydrochloride (Shabu)
442.9399 kg of Marijuana
117.3860 kg of Cocaine
15.8149 kg of Ephedrine
1.6651 kg of MDMA (Ecstasy)
0.5070 kg of Ketamine


Liquid forms of illegal substances—including amphetamine, liquid meth, marijuana extracts, and toluene—along with surrendered expired drugs, were also included in the destruction process.


According to Isagani R. Nerez, the confiscated drugs originated from various anti-drug operations conducted by PDEA in coordination with partner law enforcement agencies. Some were also turned over following court orders after being presented as evidence in resolved drug cases.


Notably, part of the destroyed contraband included over 43,000 grams of high-grade marijuana (kush) and more than 102,000 grams of cocaine recovered from coastal areas in Palawan last year. Nerez commended coastal communities for their vigilance and integrity in reporting and surrendering floating drug shipments, helping curb maritime drug trafficking.


Under strict security protocols, the illegal drugs were placed inside a high-capacity incinerator, ensuring their complete destruction within 24 hours.


“PDEA remains relentless—not only in seizing illegal substances but in guaranteeing that once removed from the streets, they are permanently destroyed,” Nerez emphasized.


He also lauded the swift action of Regional Trial Courts for expediting drug case resolutions, enabling timely disposal of seized evidence.
PDEA reaffirmed that similar destruction activities will continue nationwide as part of its sustained campaign against illegal drugs, reinforcing partnerships with communities and institutions to maintain a drug-free Philippines.
